About this app

Welcome to myVW, a drive-changing app with connected vehicle services enabled through myVW+. The myVW app enables access to control and monitor important features on your model year 2020 or newer VW. Enjoy a connected drive with a Remote Access¹ plan and more, whether you're right next to your vehicle or miles away.

Connected vehicle services enabled through myVW+ are available on most MY20 and newer vehicles and require an included or paid subscription, some of which may have their own terms and conditions. Paid subscription is required to continue services after included plan expires. Visit the shop tab in the myVW mobile app to see how much time is remaining on your subscriptions. All connected vehicle services require the myVW app and myVW account, cellular connectivity, network compatible hardware, availability of vehicle GPS signal, and acceptance of Terms of Service. Not all services and features are available on all vehicles and some features may require the most recent software update. Services depend on connection to and continued availability of 4G LTE cellular service, which is outside of Volkswagen’s control. Services are not guaranteed or warranted in the event of 4G LTE network shutdowns, obsolescence, or other unavailability of connectivity due to existing vehicle hardware or other factors. All services are subject to change, discontinuation, or cancellation without notice. Certain connected vehicle services may require additional payment for emergency or other third-party services rendered such as towing or ambulance transport services. Message and data rates may apply for app and web features. Connected vehicle services are not available on most MY20 Passat vehicles or rental fleet vehicles. See Terms of Service, Privacy Statement, and other important information at vw.com/connected. Always pay careful attention to the road and do not drive while distracted.

Seems like a really young. underdeveloped app. I get notifications for things like Windows Open, Defogger On, etc., which are a little pesky in their persistence but useful. But it would be nice if I could see a holistic Status of my vehicle for all of the things like climate, windows, door open, etc. in a similar list as what is listed in Push Notifications permissions. Right now we get Climate on/off and charging status, so let's expand on that please.

Mediocre app. Constantly makes you sign back in, frequently has outages, occasionally makes you re register what car you have, and takes forever to send commands to your car. Taking forever to send commands to the car is especially problematic because I always assume the app crashed again or just isn't going to work for no reason. The only good aspect of the app is that it is free. But even still I'm usually too stressed out about the app not working to use it on a regular basis.

It seems to lag and isn't always responsive, but it is nice to have and is often helpful. The app improved for a while, but has become less reliable. It often doesn't show the correct status, i.e. Doors locked when they are unlocked. Knowing this I just tried to refresh the app and it locked me out. This is only helpful if it is reliable and accurate; otherwise it's just a gimmick.
